In more than twenty years as a pastor, three things still ignite my passion. I love spending time with people in the Bible, connecting people across cultural boundaries in Jesus Christ, and developing artists to express God's glory.

I received my PhD in May 2017 from Southern Seminary in Louisville, KY. My work is at the intersections of philosophy, theology, and the arts. I'm also a violinist. I play with the North State Symphony, a regional orchestra based in Chico, CA, and in chamber music festivals.

Since 2011, I've been serving at Living Hope Fellowship (formerly Chico Grace Brethren). We have rebuilt ministry at every level, developing new approaches in all sorts of areas from children to how we celebrate Advent. We are diverse in age, ethnicity, political views, and economic status. But we are one in Christ.

My wife Bridget and I have two boys, one who loves making video games, the other who loves archery and swords.
